1000 Guineas Tips

Due to its early season schedule, the 1000 Guineas is often a very difficult race to assess. One of the reasons for this is that very often the progress of two year old fillies can alter during their second and third years. Some come on in leaps and bounds while others go backward. Some do not grow into themselves until much later in the year and others very often carry their winter coats long into the early summer which makes it yet harder to make a tip. It is well worth looking over the 1000 Guineas Trial Races to see which if any horses have run this season and what shape they are looing in.

At present the favourite in 1000 Guineas odds is Special Duty and based on her form as a two year old it is totally understandable why she should head the market. She had a storming run to win the Cheveley Park Stakes last year but was slightly disappointing on her first run this season when only third. Her connections are saying she will have come on for her run in France and that will need to be the case if this fillie has designs on winning on Sunday.

Throughout the start of the season, we shall be updating this page with gallop reports, horse assessments and racing intelligence to help select the winner. We did this successfully for the 1000 Guineas 2008 when we tipped Natagora to win. The 1000 Guineas Past Winners will tell punters that since 1999 there have been three favourites who have gone on to win the race which is a fact punters should note. In fact, seven of the last 11 winners have had a price of 10/1 or bigger so more often than not a contender will come out of the pack to take the win.
